STUTTGART, Germany: German luxury carmaker Porsche reported a drop in global sales for the first nine months of 2025, with a sharp decline in China weighing on overall performance amid what it called a "challenging" market environment.
The automaker said sales in China, its second-largest market, fell 26 percent as demand weakened under intensifying competition and sluggish consumer sentiment.
Globally, Porsche delivered around 70,836 vehicles between July and September, a decline of about six percent from a year earlier, according to a Reuters calculation. Deliveries for the January to September period totalled 212,509 vehicles worldwide.
Sales in North America, Porsche's largest market, edged up 4.7 percent during the third quarter, partly offsetting the steep downturn in Asia.
"We expect the market environment to remain challenging in the future," said Matthias Becker, a member of Porsche AG's executive board for sales and marketing.
The Stuttgart-based carmaker cut its outlook in September, citing weaker global demand, ongoing pressure in China, and higher U.S. tariffs as key headwinds.
