France welcomed 102 million international visitors in 2025, compared with 100 million in 2024.
PARIS, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- France recorded a historic high in international tourism revenue in 2025, reaching 77.5 billion euros (91.5 billion U.S. dollars), up 9 percent from the previous year, the tourism ministry said on Thursday.
In its annual report, the ministry said France welcomed 102 million international visitors in 2025, compared with 100 million in 2024.
Domestic tourism consumption, which has been on an upward trend for several years, rose to 222 billion euros (262.0 billion U.S. dollars) in 2025, the report added.
France remains the world's most visited country, according to the ministry.
Looking ahead, early indicators for 2026 suggest positive momentum, the ministry said, citing a strong increase in air bookings in the first quarter compared with the same period in 2025. The growth was driven in particular by travelers from Mexico, China and Canada, with bookings rising by 19 percent, 17 percent and 7 percent, respectively. (1 euro = 1.18 U.S. dollar)
